Jonathan Humpierres (Juan Diego)
Jonathan Humpierres, professionally known as Juan Diego, was born on February 15, 1974, in Caracas, Venezuela. He received his JD title from the Santa Maria University in Caracas, but prefers the world of music to that of an attorney. He learned to play the piano at an early age.
Juan Diego has been composing and singing for more than twenty years but it was in 2003 when he first showed us his talent as a singer and writer, with his album "Y tendremos una historia" which includes, among others, "Historias de bar", "Adicto a ti", and "Y tendremos una historia."
By 2005 he showed us once again his energy and work with his second album "Todo sin temor", with cuts like "Y tanto amor", "Te cuento", and "Todo sin temor".
This year Juan Diego organized the first singer/writers festival in Caracas - Venezuela; aiming to offer an opportunity to all those unknown talents who have not been lucky enough to be supported by the music industry. The event was backed by SACVEN the Venezuelan performance society, and attracted the interest of many foreign composers.
Juan Diego, who dreams of having his records released in Mexico, is branching out into a new field, that of producer, and is presently recording a new artist. He’s also in the process of preparing his third disc, with his own compositions, of course.
