Alejandro
Alejandro "Nano" Silva
Alejandro was born on March 12, 1966, in the city of Maracaibo, Venezuela. He got his master's in music from the University Cecilio Acosta, in Maracaibo.

At the age of six he was already playing the "cuatro" and as a teenager he learned drums and Latin percussion, as well as bass and piano, and a bit later the trumpet and string instruments. Definitely a poly-instrumental Venezuelan artist.

He has worked as a producer and director, and founded three regional groups in the state of Zulia: Makondo, Muévete and Sound 4. He is also the Musical Director of "Conjunto Gaitero Barrio Obrero" of Cabimas, considered the most traditional and more active group of bagpipes today and who, for more than 50 years, have performed Venezuelan folklore songs. This year, we will hear the single "El Ciempies" an anti-government song composed and directed by our own Alejandro Silva.

In 2000 "Nano" began working with Guaco, famous for interpreting tropical music and bagpipes; for whom he composed their first single "Equilibrio". Two years later he appears with "El Buzo"; and later with songs like "El Trastornado" and "Como camina", among many others. In 2005 he wrote regaeton cuts for the super band "Échate pa´acá" which guest features the famous salsero Oscar de León.

We are happy to report that the latest record by the group "Puerto Rican Power", the great salsa band from Puerto Rico, includes Alejandro’s song "Se ven Bonitas", and we expect him to continue composing for this famous group.

This year, 2006, he also composed "Confusión", recorded by Guaco, which has had great acceptance by the public and is the theme single of Venevisión's just released soap opera, "Voltea pa´ que te enamores".
