Barstool Prophets
Good friends, Bobby Tamas and Glenn Forrester, began performing together in their early teens. Later, while still in high school, Graham Greer joined up with them. The threesome landed local gigs as often as possible. By the time the next decade started, the band had a new member, guitarist Al Morier, a fuller sound, and lots of experience behind them.
As word of mouth spread about the indie rock group, and fans increased. In 1994 the Barstool Prophets released their first album, Deflowered which led to opening slots for bands like 54-40, The Waltons, Odds and The Headstones.
In 1995 their sophomore album was born, Crank. The band's catchy songs, head-turning videos, and energetic live shows ensured the Prophets gave them a strong fan-base in Canada and so 'Crank' was subsequently released in the USA in July 1996.
It took two years for a third offering to arrive, Last of the Big Game Hunters. The singles "Paranoia", which was included on the soundtrack for the film Never Talk to Strangers, "Last of the Big Game Hunters" and "Friend of Mine" were all Canadian rock radio hits.
