Chango Nieto
Chango Nieto was born in Salta, land of musicians and poets on April 8th, 1943. In 1960, Chango Nieto arrived in Buenos Aires. Around those years the Argentine folk music was at its splendour.
Since 1965, year in which he was awarded the Revelation of the Cosquin Festival Award (the greatest Argentine folk music festival), he recorded over 600 songs and received numerous awards.
His singing extended beyond the borders of our country, since he very regularly visited other countries in Latin America, Europe, the USA & Canada.
He died on January 31st, 2008
