Colt Prather
Don’t mistake Colt Prather’s reserved and easygoing demeanor for shyness. Underneath his calm and cool exterior lies a passionate music-maker who lets his songs and his guitar do all the talking.

From Pinon, New Mexico, to Nashville’s famed Music Row, music has always been a defining force in Colt Prather’s life. “My family is full of great musicians and singers. They’re all ranchers and farmers or into agriculture of some sort but my great great grandfather was a violin maker as well as a livestockman. He had a lot of kids and grandkids and he made fiddles for all of us and taught us all how to play. So everybody played the fiddle, guitar, piano or something and every family get-together was usually all about playing music. You can see why my family is so supportive of my music career!!!”

High school bands led to his first touring country band that played clubs 49 weeks out of the year. Later, Colt took a fulltime gig with the legendary house band at the Stock-Yard restaurant and bar in Nashville. His reputation as a vocalist and musician quickly spread around Music Row, and Sony Music executives soon signed him to Epic Nashville.
