Hal Batt was born and raised in Miami, Florida where he attended the University of Miami School of Music and Miami-Dade College of Music.

Batt began his composing and producing career in 1983, working with legendary artists such as Lionel Hampton, Boots Randolph, Regina Belle, Gerald Alston & Jean Carne..

He entered into the Latin market soon after that, co-writing and arranging the single for Julio Iglesias entitled, "Agua Dulce, Agua Sala", which sold just under 4 million copies and reached the #1 pop single in Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks. It was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. This song was included in Julio’s greatest hits album released in 1998, an album that quickly reached platinum status.

Following this very successful release, Batt went on to receive "El Premio ASCAP" for the Most Played Latin Songs in America. In 1995 and 1996, he was honored for the songs, "Agua Dulce, Agua Sala" & "Solamente Tu Amor."

Recent artists for which Batt has produced and written range from Chayanne and Nayobe to Shakira and Emanuel Ortega. He has collaborated with Donato & Estefano and co-written with Donato on songs such as "(Nadie) Como Tu", featured on the solo album debut of famed Spanish artist Ana Torroja, which was released worldwide.

Batt has also produced and written for BMG artist and soap-opera star Alejandro Martinez, Lenny Medina (formerly of Ilegales) and Jaime Camil (EMI Mexico). He produced and co-wrote on the album entitled "Solo El Amor" for Miguel Angel Guerra (Word Latin) which was released in September 2000. Recently, Hal arranged "Te Amo", co-written by Donato Poveda, for Oscar De La Hoya’s (EMI Latin) debut release. Batt’s work continues to reflect his talent and versatility..

More recently he produced Miguel Angel Guerra’s album, "Hoy Más Que Nunca" (Vida Music).

Miguel Angel’s new album, "Oirán," produced by Hal S. Batt has just been released. The album features "Por Ti Seré," Donato Poveda’s Official Spanish-language version of Josh Groban’s "You Raise Me Up."
