Insanity Wave
In December ´92 INSANITY WAVE recorded their first demo tape which showed a brilliant assimilation of a wide variety of sounds - from the 80´s Power-Pop (Plimsouls,Paul Collins Beat) to more Contemporary Rock Acts like Hüsker Dü, Replacements and Green Day. These are some of the bands that have motivated INSANITY WAVE to pick up their guitars and start playing.
The demo tape provided the band their contract with La Fábrica Magnética, a prestigious indepedent label that has been a basic name in the development of the Spanish Rock scene.
November of 1993 saw INSANITY WAVE´s first release, a homonymous E.P. that was an eye-opener for the critics. The E.P. contained 4 impressive tracks in which the band proved their songwriting talent. One of the tracks, "She said hey," became their first hit. Following the release of the E.P. the band started a long Spanish Tour that included some dates in France as well.
During the summer of 1994 the band entered the studio to record their first album. All through July and August the album was recorded and mixed. The album was entitled "Go Off" and came out in February of ´95. It proved again that the band is capable of writing some serious pop songs.
Good reviews came along and the band toured Spain, France and Portugal. The album was also released in Brasil on Paradise Records.
Finishing their contract with "La Fábrica Magnética," the band signed to ROTO RECORDS in 1996 to record their latest album: "Do the Worm". The band flew to Chicago to record with Jeff Murphy, the legendary producer and member of The Shoes. "Do the Worm" is a little more "rock" than their previous album but it still has the melodies, harmonies and hooks that are an essential part of INSANITY WAVE´s sound.
Indie Label spinART has taken "Do the Worm" for U.S. release.
INSANITY WAVE is:
Colman Gota Thompson. Plays bass and sings. He works as a lawyer cheating authors in SGAE (Spanish ASCAP)
Juan Corrales Rodrigañez. Bangs the drums and does all those things that drummers are supposed to do. He is a Computer Executive and processes the authors monies... with a subsequent benefit.
Chema Martinez Escriña. Plays guitar and sings. Lives only for his guitar... he´s basically the one author cheated by the two dudes abovementioned.
