She started singing with her first rockband in 1974 and made an album with her own band “Lo’ko She Bang” for Polygram. The latter was produced by George Kooymans of “Golden Earring” and contained two hit-singles.
In 1995 Julya Lo’ko made her first solo-album, entitled “Colour Me Forever”. Her second album entitled “Heartland” will be released on October 1999. The album is a semi-acoustic pop album, with eastern influences. Her voice can be compared to those of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. However, her musical style is a much personal one.
