Martha Gonzalez
Martha holds a degree in Ethnomusicology from UCLA. She plays congas, bata drums, percussion, jarana, and tarima and has worked extensively with the community in order to make music, art and culture accessible to youth. She is a lyricist and songwriter for East LA based band Quetzal and enjoys collaborating with other groups in the East LA cultural movement. She has appeared on numerous recording, tours and composed songs for respected groups and films such as: Raul Malo, Ozomatli, Los Super Seven, Los Lobos, Latin Playboys, Rick Treviño, Slowrider, Burning Star, Teatro Campesino’s Virgen de Tepeyac and HBO’s "Dirt".
