“Mata” is Roberta Faccani’s nickname. She started performing live in many small clubs of the Milanese area, and was influenced by different music styles, ranging from jazz to rock. Thanks to her charisma and powerful, involving performances, she soon became well known in the north Italian club scene. She has worked with many Italian and international artists (Adriano Celentano, Aida Cooper and Thelma Houston) and has contributed as a vocalist to many other live and recorded pieces.

When Mata met peer’s Mario Lavezzi, they decided to start working together on an interesting project. She has recorded the single “Rido” (50% peer, 50% Farfalla – peer adm. for the world) that will be released in October through CGD East West (Warner).

At the beginning of this year Mata was chosen personally by Luciano Pavarotti to play the leading role in the Italian edition of the musical “Rent”. Mata has recorded an Italian version of the song “Season of love” performed by Skin (singer of Skunk Anansie). It is titled “Stagioni d’amore”. Skin appears in the video with Mata together with characters from Rent.
