Nostradamus
A Story of Dreams
Technology, impressive sciences and a speed, which only a century ago was considered to be the stuff of Jules Verne’s wild fantasy, drive our everyday life. An atmosphere of enigma, magic and mystery, however, still remains when it comes to the inexplicable. About 500 years ago one seer appeared to know the future of our planet Earth.
Man is only able to approach the aura of the supernatural in a state of consciousness in which the spirit is disconnected from the body, able to float through space and time. The French seer, astrologer and doctor, Michel de Nostradame (1503 – 1566AD) is undoubtedly the best known and most credible prophet in our history. Back in the 16th century he amazed the masses with the accuracy of his predictions, and the prophesies, written in cryptic four-line form in his oracle like "Centuries", extending far into the future up to the year 3797.
To this day, Nostradamus’ writings have been reinterpreted countless times and they show that he foresaw many events such as the French and Russian Revolutions, space travel and the 1991 Gulf War. According to his visions, 1998 and the coming turn of the millennium will be characterized by an existential shift, a new branch on the tree of life of mankind. The year 2000 marks the beginning of the Age of Aquarius for a period of about 2160 years. Nostradamus saw on the one hand a scenario of peace and a "Golden Age", and on the other, an apocalyptic future under the sign of the "King of Terror", though he did not believe it would mean the end of the world.
The mysterious thrall of this seer inspired the idea for music on this CD. Many questions still haunt us – Did Nostradamus’ spirit really travel through time and space? How did he perceive our future, our fate? What is our destiny, where is our souls’ love? Can we dare to dream – to see – as he did?
The music is a fusion of medieval, contemporary and future elements; compositionally independent and translated into a wealth of new sound dimensions. Themes by Verdi and Beethoven, Gregorian chants and sensitive voices will have the listener "hooked" as will the African tribal tunes and modern rhythms.
