Omar Herrera Sanchez
Omar was born on November 22, 1974 in the city of Valencia, Carabobo state-Venezuela.
He entered the world of music at a very early age and began studying guitar when he was 10, then continued with the "cuatro". He also played the double-bass in Carabobo's Symphony. At the age of 14 he wrote his first song, which garnered him third place in a lyceum voice contest. He has also won the first place with unpublished songs in various universities and lyceum’s national festivals.
This great Venezuelan composer has written songs for popular acts like the group from Maracaibo "Los Pelaos", who included "Yo te propongo", in the CD of the same name. They have reached the first place on the Record Report.
Simon Gomez, ex-participant of the TV program "Fama y Aplausos", included in his first record "Historia sin sentido" Omar Herrera's song "Si me entendieras ", in salsa and ballad versions.
Omar continues to offer us his marvellous songs which will, once again, be recorded by "Los Pelaos" and other musical groups of Valencia.
