Ragdog
Radog began as a group in 2002 when the four members of the band met at secondary school. Aleix Lores (singer, guitar and piano) Pablo García (guitar) Alberto Leyenda (bass) and Juanma Treinta (drummer) started playing songs of bands that marked a whole generation (Nirvana, Oasis etc..) Step by step creativity appears and songs with its own style arise: fresh powerpop with great melodies, powerful, direct and full of emotions.
Soon ragdog becomes the star of the local musical scene. Between concert and concert, they manage to record their first demos and local radio stations begin to air their songs. In the contest organized by Top 40’s Maketón Estrella Galicia, ragdog is the winner for best song, best demo and best live concert during 2005, 2006 and 2007 respectively.
After their performances in various clubs of their home town, they begin touring around Spain. They start getting calls from promoters, record companies and are opening act for Pereza and Iván Ferreiro.
.........and they keep burning miles.
In view of the band’s success, supported by the huge number of visits to their web page and after selling out at Vigo’s Nova Olimpia Club, they decide to send a demo to well-known producer Fernando Montesinos (producer for Pereza among others). With Montesinos the band starts producing their first songs.
Confined in the studio, thinking over the songs, looking for their own sound, ragdog finds out about Sello Espacio Movistar (Sem) and they decide to upload the song “Nada Mas” to the label’s web. In hardly one month it becomes the most voted song of the web. Thanks to this, ragdog becomes the first reference of the label.
The 69,000 visits in their official myspace in the last year as well as being one of the top 5 most voted artists of Sello Espacio Movistar’s web with over 40,000 streamings over the last two months, has placed ragdog as one of the most promising bands.
