Sindicato Argentino Del Hip Hop
The Sindicato Argentino del Hip Hop was formed in the early 1990's to diffuse Hip Hop in Argentina. In 1992, they go on the road with their instruments, and in 1997, they record Del Barrio and Pide Más for their first CD of Hip Hop Argentino titled Nación Hip Hop. Del Barrio is the group's first video, and at the same time, projects them internationally. That same year the CD MTV Lingo is edited, including Sindicato Argentino del Hip Hop, Cypress Hill, Control Machete, Illya Kuryaki and Delinquent Habits, among other well known Hip Hop artists. In 2000, they sign a contract with Universal Music and record in the album Un Paso A La Eternidad, which won them three Grammy nominations, two Latin and one Anglo, becoming the only Argentineans to receive the most prestigious award in the industry, Best Rap Album Of The Year.
Sindicato is composed of Smoler, Huexo and DJ Fabry and has launched its second album for Universal Music, Sangre, Sudor y Furia, which debuted in the United States and Puerto Rico under a new subdivision of Universal, Machete Music, which specializes in Hip Hop and Reggaeton.
Sangre Sudor y Furia includes the participation of renowned artists such as: Julieta Venegas (México), DosHermanos and Chojín (España), Loco de la casa Phonky (Francia), D-Shon (Colombia), Full Nelson and T. Weaponz (New York),Tego Calderón and Vico C (Puerto Rico), and a reggaeton remix by Luny Tunes.
Recently they filmed two music videos in Puerto Rico, one of them combining the songs El Dinero and Los 6 Fantásticos, filmed entirely in the "La Perla" sector of Old San Juan. The other video, El Robo, was filmed at the legendary "Oso Blanco" prison. This video is in MTV Argentina’s Top 10.
With the debut of Sangre Sudor y Furia, the tour which started in Puerto Rico in February, will expand to include North, Central and South America. October might see Sindicato on its first European tour.
In June 2005 Sindicato signed an Exclusive Songwriter agreement with peermusic.
