Jud Friedman
Not many writers began their careers with a number one Pop, Grammy nominated hit song. Such was the case with Jud's "I DONT HAVE THE HEART," recorded by James Ingram. Tough act to follow? Not when you have a song from the biggest selling soundtrack album in history, recorded by one of the top selling artists of all time. "RUN TO YOU," from THE BODYGUARD, recorded by Whitney Houston, earned Jud an Oscar nomination as well as a second Grammy nomination. Jud's other film credits include the Golden Globe nominated song "The Color Of The Night" from the Bruce Willis film "COLOR OF THE NIGHT."
Jud's songs have been recorded by music legends such as Ray Charles, Gladys Knight and BeBe and CeCe Winans, as well as contemporary artists Oleta Adams, Chante Moore and Dave Koz. He continues to branch out, just having completed all the scoring, music supervision and songwriting for the (already aired) ABC TV movie, "PRINCE FOR A DAY," starring Joey Lawrence.
Lately, Jud's discography has expanded to include cuts on the most recent releases from Tina Turner, Chaka Khan and Dave Koz.
We're also especially proud that he is the writer of one of the only two new songs appearing on Rod Stewart's recently released greatest hits album.
The song, entitled "For the First Time," is featured in the recently released romantic comedy "One Fine Day," starring Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney.
